After talking and talking for yonks - Maya and I decided to brave the cold and head into town for some dance! After some quick research we decided to hit Club ID - supposed to be a big hit in area.
After finishing work we headed out for fuel - aka dinner... not finishing till around midnight as we caught up with some out-of-towners who wanted to party.
We walked over to Club ID only to be told it was going to close at 1am!!!! Wow and surprise was all I had (apparently we were told later by an American that the club only started to close early due to drunken fights).
We met a fairy - who was fierce at striking a pose:
We bumped into more strangers looking to go to a club called Emporium, so we decided to tag along. Our first hurdle was passing the door b***h who said only members were allowed to bring in foreigners. Lucky for Maya and I we looked like Japanese so they allowed us in! The beauty in Japan is the cover charge pays for a drink (in my case 2000 yen gave us 3 drinks). After entering and hitting the little girls room - I was bumped into by a girl who has knocked back more than she can handle. She released her stomach contents on my jacket - making me spend the next 30 minutes trying to wash and dry in the toilets.
Dressed to dance more than to impress - we stood out like light bulbs in the room - that didn't stop us! The DJ was cute too although not that great in music choices~
The night ended abruptly at 2:30am so we decided to split from the group and find another location to dance. Encountered a hotdog stand - nothing like greasy food after some alcohol fuel
As you can see I have the Asian gene where I go bright red after a drop of alcohol haha
We ended up going to a club called STEPS (highly not recommended sorta reminds me Cheers bar back home - seedy guys , skanky girls...you know the bad combo) to kill time since the last train was around 12am and the next train home wasn't till 6am hahaha
To kill more time we left to sad sad club and walked a good hour to Nagoya station (we were in Sakae) and headed home in the morning cold - jacket still wet!
Overall it was a fun night - maybe we need to go out earlier if we want to dance.

My Birthday Weekend
Original plans to go to Nagano with a couple of friends ended in the dumps when the bus company we were going to travel with canceled all their buses up north due to the quake (also the earthquake that hit Nagano in the morning). I spent my bday morning looking up any replacement places we can hit - we ended up going back to our favorite spot - Wing Hills Shirotori.
Before that Maya and I spent the night eating and drinking in Gifu!
Typical salaryman passing out after a long days work. The night went well except when a couple of drunk gaijins (foreigners) came in and made a fool of themselves. Verbal insults traded and we left. Our happy state did attract a group of Japanese friends who shared our joy - then parted ways and danced our way home!
Early the next morning we hoped on a train and headed for Wing Hills. This is our first time going there my public transport so of we wet with our luggage. And no we did not plan to have matching matching luggage.
Waited one hr for the bus to come in the sleepy town only to find out that the buses don't run on the weekend! Had to fork out toooooo much money and cab it to the fields.
Finally manage to hit the slopes. So many cute guys to perve on!!! We stayed the the resort and hit the onsen at night (amazing!!!) even though both Maya and I were super embarrassed the onsen staff was friendly and so damn nice!
We made friends with the owner of the local takoyaki stand!!! Super yum and on the second day when they found out we had to wait 2 hours for the bus to come, they offered to drive us to the station! Super nice!
Need to hit this place more before the seasons end!
Here is a pic of the lovely card Maya made for me!!
Awesome-O weekend!

Please Support Japan
Super megastar Ayumi Hamasaki (who is also my favorite JPOP star) has designed a tshirt with a strong message of HOPE - all proceeds going towards the earthquake relief. The tshirts go on sale on March 17th and shipping overseas is available.
I know I will be definitely getting myself one. You can get one yourself here

A Somber Day
Today - as many of you may have already heard, Japan was struck by a powerful quake. Fortunately I am not located in the northern part (most affected area), but the aftershocks were felt where I live (Just to highlight the magnitude of the quake). Japan at the moment is flooded with images of the quake and the tsunami and the devastation.
Prayers to all who have been affected.
My inbox and FB have been flooded today with messages of concern and love from everyone back home. Thanks for your messages - I definitely felt the love.

My Bday Present!
As mentioned in an earlier post here, Koh got me a present for my birthday which arrived today. It was sold out in the store, but they delivered it to my home - which I rather preferred.
*drum roll* here is it! - I spent a good 2 hrs of my morning building it but its love love love!
All bikes in Japan has to be registered and you can do it at the same time when you buy your bike. So if it gets stolen - they can find the owner when its found.
Time to take it for a spin!

The Power of Online Shopping in Japan!
A common thing to hear among us native teachers at peppy (overseas teachers) is the crazy prices of fruit here in Japan. I certainly do, especially since I love fruits of all kinds back home. So after feeling a bit crazy and splurging of some strawberries I decided to go online and see what was available. I came across a whole array of online stores that can ship boxes of fruits to you. Its not as cheap back home but at least its better than the supermarket prices. This morning I just received my box of citrus mix! It has oranges and mandarins... I actually expected more variety but beggers can't be choosers hahaha.

Whatasurprise!
Kick Start the Party!
With my upcoming birthday - Koh came for another visit! Whipped up a fantastic meal (which included taco rice! - just like a taco without the tortilla), a fun day of me shopping and receiving my bday pressie (which will be in another post!).
Spolied! We also made tiramisu - which turned out quite yummy!
Next day was dinner and movie with Maya and Miho! We watch GANTZ (Japanese movie based on a manga series) and it was f-ing awesome! I can't wait till part 2 comes out! I don't really understand Japanese but I got the general concept of the movie which surprised me!
Next on the agenda - Nagano!
