Sick in the City

During an epic shopping day in Nagoya, we stumbled upon a nice display made of chocolates to commemorate Valentine's Day! Totally made me want to dive in and start munching away... Common sense stopped me.

My shopping loot includes much needed snow boots (to stop me slipping and making me look like I'm break dancing in the middle of the road, warm jacket, tights socks, and flats from Zara for 990 yen! (so cheap).

But with my loot came something else - a cold! The thing about Japan during winter is indoors are super heated and stuffy while outside is super cold! Sudden temperature changes does not fit well with me and I ended waking with a fever and sore throat! I had to miss a trip to the snows cause of that! Not happy~

Eternal Snowglobe

The snow has started to fall heavily in my area! Started last night and by morning pretty much everything was white!
I loved the white storm, but I got snowed in and my lovely neighbors helped cleared it out for me! I love how families work together to clear the snow from the streets!

Last Day of 2010

Still suffering from a bout of stomach flu, I braved the elements and headed out to celebrate the start of a new year!
The day was simple with some shopping and the night we headed to Koh's friend's house for a dinner. It was slightly nerve-wrecking as it was the first time we are meeting and my lack of energy didn't help. It turned out to be a great dinner, but we headed off before the countdown to hit Shibuya.
The place was filled with Gaijins and Maya and I made it a game to scare as many of them as possible with our Japanese appearance and awesome English! There was no official countdown and before we knew it police were controlling the crowds until the clock hit midnight and everyone just ran onto the road! Chaos!!!!
After that we ran around taking random photos and someone even gave us free alcohol which we sipped and threw out cause it was YUK!!!
Overall it was heaps fun and the atmosphere reminded us both of Sydney.

Thanks to Maya for the pictures!~

Tokyo Baby!!!!

As soon as I stepped off the bus - we hit Shinjuku for lunch then off to our friends house to drop off our things. My extensions was disgusting now (into its 3rd month) and because of the heat and cold, its become pubic like - tangled and messy. I had Maya help cut the elastic that was holding the braids... and out they came!

After a nice shampoo and conditioner, I hit the night in Kawasaki to celebrate the end of the working year with some friends

Unfortunately I caught a stomach bug that night and was later seen vomitting at the local train station >< It lasted pretty much my entire trip but I tried to not let it spoil my trip!

It's Snowing!!!!

It started snowing in Gifu on Christmas!

Christmas Eve!

Our preparations started early in the day with much needed shopping and cooking. Maya and I hosted a party and invited our close friends to share in some fun and gossip. I nearly cried when Maya played the violin for us then fueled with some alcohol we hit a local karaoke joint and went solid for 7 hours. I survived the journey while others fell asleep (not counting Koh)!
After going home and passing out, I woke up and had delivered pizza and 100 yen sushi for dinner!
Our biggest surprise was the first snow falling on us at Christmas! It was truely a magical experience!

Holiday 1 - Osaka

When my holidays kicked in almost 3 weeks ago (damn how time flies!) I became a couch potato watching too many criminal minds (that sh*t can give u nightmares!) I went on short trip to Osaka to chill and visit some friends!
On the first day we managed to find Vietnamese food, fancy lights, Takoyaki (octopus dumplings), dance, get wasted, and stumble back to our hotel

The second day was an early start to Universal Studios. Many people who know me can vouch that I am not the fan of roller coasters or any big dropping rides but I was forced to listen to Visual K music while terrified on the roller coaster here - thanks Maya for forcing me on!
Besides my terrifying ordeal, the other rides were fun, shops were cute and the Xmas season was definitely in the air!

Followed by more festivities in the city!

My final day was sad as it was spent shopping and bidding farewell to a city I have always loved!
I will definitely be back!

Just a quick thanks to my girl Christine back home for the yummy chocolates!~
